Angkor and Tonle Sap village and lake

A guardian on the bridge to the...
the Bayon gate
the Bayon with its four headed towers remains a photographic challenge
I can't avoid shooting the dancing asparas..
some tourists prefer to ride on elephant
we rest and watch this little girl
we found a stylish monk
we leave by the western gate and go to Angkor Wat
a young Cambodian girl mimics the asparas
and is joined by an elegant tourist
we leave Angkor Wat at the sunset
the next day we go to Tonle Sap lake and village
we photograph a rare woman with black lacquered hair
people look friendly to us
kids sit around
or lay on the floor
everyone is a fisherman
Recycling is done with a motor bike
work in garden
The new catholic church
typical house on stilts
floating gardens
on the way back we visit Beng Melea temple
lost in the nature
and a beautiful girl waits for us
3 kids on a bike..
a little girl with her baby dog...
we leave with this symbolic heart

Phnom Penh, Cambodia: day and nightlife

the royal palace shines in the middle of Phnom Pen by the Mekong river
maimed boys live in the streets
mothers beg in the street
bikes are everywhere
this father follows our tuk tuk and holds her daughter hand to say hello
two monks on a vespa...
this woman sells balloons
this young boy too
this old woman keeps her money in her hands at the flower market
just a few blocks away from nightclubs...
a tattoo master talks to a client
a young boy sleeps in a hammock in the street
close to a wounded tuk tuk driver
and to two women on the pavement
a tuk tuk driver
and this one on his motorcycle
at the market, rotten eggs

and fried tarantulas
offered by this charming girl...
who puts one alive on my shirt
to the surprise of this young monk

Laos: Mekong river, tribe villages and Luang Prabang

We take our boat for a 2 day cruise on the river
sail thru beautiful landscape
but because of the morning fog
we need blankets to protect us from the cold
even the elephants stick together
a long, thin boat glides up river steered by a long bamboo rod
we stop at a H Mong village and kids come to us
a small and shy boy...
this one with a baby on her back
protected by a towel...
carrying water buckets
an older woman feeding pigs
an other one starting a fire
an older man with his knife
feeling protected by holding a post
or standing by the stairs
we passed by beautiful landscape before reaching Luang Prabang
The monks start collecting alms at 6.15 am
they open their alms bowl
some are very young
There are hundreds of them
they return to beautiful monastery
with gorgeous mosaic
... paintings
and sophisticated roofs
We went to the nearby waterfalls
In the last village...
they try hard to sell
almost baby!
beautiful girls
try to sell
their stuff
we leave for the Sunset on the Mekong
