Nepal: Climbing the Mera Peak: 6461m-21197'

The West face was too vertical for us to climb...
This is the face we climbed
we avoided the crevasses
the slope got stiffer
Great view when we arrived to the last camp
behind me the Makalu: 8476m, 27790'Add caption
the porters picked up the snow to cook the diner
and carry it to the tents
this one is on the rocks
others are on the snow
The next morning ready for the climb to the crest at 6200m, 20341'
The next day,we used a "jumar" to help us climbing with the  rope
It was a very spectacular
and very long hike
The amount of icy snow was impressive!
We gathered at the pass to rappel it down with all the equipment...
down this long and vertical slope. It took us 6 hours!
and led us back to the valley with a view to the Everest, the Lhotse and the Nuptse from which we trekked down 3 days down to Lukla
