Lions of the Okavango Delta

This roaring lion is calling his lioness...
and probably other lions
he relaxes
 shows his blond mane(crinière)
starts walking to us
with an intense look
mesmerizing impalas...
who run away
Nearby a great kudu watches the scene...
of the lioness in a strange posture
 an elephant comes by
close to the lioness
who wakes up
and is ready to join her lion
watched by a giraffe...
but for us it's time for a drink

while a male one flies away

while young ones prompt away
under the watch of the mothers
and a Francolin (perdrix)
Zebras graze by a termite mound
a trotting baby....
regroups with his mum
because wild dogs (Lyacons) hunt

runs
sniffs
and rests
Lilak Breasted Roller (Rollier à long brins)
Bea eater(Guépier)

Leopards of the Okawango delta

The Okavango delta at low water level
a female leopard exits from her bush
to hunt for her 2 young ones
who eat with relish the killed impala

while their mum digests on a tree
the next morning we came back and saw them
one eats a leg of the impala
while the other  walks around
sniffs at something suspicious
get ready to jump
and run away from...
his worst enemy: the Baboon!
a buffalo with his oxpecker (piqueboeuf) watches the scene
elephants continue their orderly procession
hypos try to intimidate us
but not these impalas
nor these ones fighting for the harem.
this male warthog (phacochère) watches ...
his partner left with her last baby alive
an African wild cat is hunting
a pygmy mongoose looks for snakes
It's time to watch the sunset
