The West face was too vertical for us to climb... |
This is the face we climbed |
we avoided the crevasses |
the slope got stiffer |
Great view when we arrived to the last camp |
behind me the Makalu: 8476m, 27790'Add caption |
the porters picked up the snow to cook the diner |
and carry it to the tents |
this one is on the rocks |
others are on the snow |
The next morning ready for the climb to the crest at 6200m, 20341' |
The next day,we used a "jumar" to help us climbing with the rope |
It was a very spectacular |
and very long hike |
The amount of icy snow was impressive! |
We gathered at the pass to rappel it down with all the equipment... |
down this long and vertical slope. It took us 6 hours! |
and led us back to the valley with a view to the Everest, the Lhotse and the Nuptse from which we trekked down 3 days down to Lukla |
