Picturesque tribes of Angola

Our last trace of civilisation....
before 200km of dunes ...
and beaches
before reaching the Cuene river...
We meet our first Mukuvale people
who smiles recognizing our guide
a young woman making a basket
a kid sucking a razor blade....
another woman comes with heavy load and a baby
She smokes a pipe and we leave
Do it yourself string bra!
a young Mukuvale girl who does not need a bra...
smiles at me ...
brings some friends
looks at the tent
and they sit by my tent...
expecting some food
early next morning  we give some food to the kids
meet a young mother at the market
and a mum breast feeding while selling lemons
we crossed the Iona park
and camped amid baobabs
where a Cuanhana mother with a christian cross came to us
then a young girl...
with a mother breast feeding her baby
and another one in her village
Two Cuanhana girls riding dunkey to carry water
Modimba woman at work
Modimba kids
Modimbas looking at the screen of the camera
The Epupa Falls
cherished by the Himbas

Bobcats (Lynx Rufus)

This is the first bobcat I saw in 2006. It was big and beautiful with its  spotted fur
This one is younger and with spots only on the forelegs
I had to crawl on my elbows to get close
it was hunting..
and knew I was close
and suddenly pounced on a rodent and disappeared
one evening I saw one crossing the road,
surprised it looked at me showing its black tufted ears
before going to hunt in the grass
I was lucky to get close to this one
it was looking for a prey
and showing its wiskered face
I walked along and it stood on a rock
kept watching
while lying on a rock
it walked again in the grass
looking for a prey...
in the beautiful evening light.
